“ISIS and the Taliban” .. The history of the blood struggle between the most extremist terrorists
ISIS .. a name that had begun to fall into oblivion after it caused seas of blood and a lot of terror, not only at the level of the Middle East, but at the global level as well, because of the terrifying situations and horrific scenes that made hearts cry before eyes.
However, after the bloody bombings in the Afghan capital, Kabul, this name returned with force on the world scene, as ISIS-Khorasan did not hesitate to adopt the two bombings that struck the vicinity of Kabul Airport in Afghanistan, leaving dozens of Americans dead and wounded.
The adoption statement was followed by the publication of the suicide bomber's photo and the identification of his bragging, while it does not seem that this boasting is the beginning of a darker and darker era awaiting Afghanistan, in which the big picture is not yet clear.
This showy terrorist act raised many global questions about how ISIS suddenly took the lead in Afghanistan? Will the organization expand in the country and try to crowd out the movement in its rule, and the way the Taliban will follow in light of the many promises it made to the international community, and finally the future of Afghanistan and the ability of ISIS Khorasan to aggravate the situation more than it is currently or not.
Security reports stated that ISIS-Khorasan movement did not issue the scene overnight. Rather, the reports confirmed the existence of seas of blood between the latter and the Taliban movement that lasted for more than 5 years. The main driver of the Taliban was the decline in the ability of the international terrorist organization, which incurred many losses. Al-Kabir, whether regionally after targeting its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, or locally after the organization lost some of the main areas it controlled.
The preparation for the return of ISIS was very early after the targeting of the presidential palace in Kabul during the last Eid al-Adha prayer, which was considered an early warning for the Taliban and the beginning of a different and new comeback announcing its presence on Afghan soil.
After that, ISIS Khorasan confirmed its presence and the beginning of its dominance over the Afghan scene and crowding out the Taliban movement, through the Kabul airport bombings, which might establish a new stage in which ISIS may plan to turn Afghanistan as its headquarters, especially with the end of the American withdrawal amid assurances from Washington that Afghanistan will witness a conflict violent conflict between the organization and the Taliban movement.
ISIS and Taliban blood struggle
The roots of the blood conflict between ISIS Khurasan and the Taliban movement began in 2017, after bloody battles between the two parties, following the first arrest of 3 drug dealers selling opium to raise money for the second.
However, after the "Taliban" movement took control of the joints of power in the country, the movement's spokesman, "Zabihullah Mujahid" announced that the latter would not object to the activity of ISIS in Afghanistan, but this did not prevent the latter from criticizing the movement after it took office.
According to the reports of researchers in the affairs of extremist groups, the Afghan scene during the coming period is foggy and reeks of blood, because the statements of the leader of the Taliban movement, Shahabuddin Dilawar, indicated that the movement does not allow the presence of ISIS on Afghan soil, and that it will take all measures to ensure that this does not exist. organization on the territory of Afghanistan.
Which is not in line with the geographical nature and the status quo. The organization is remarkably present in the northwest of Afghanistan, which is the area called the Islamic Khurasan Province, in addition to the provinces of Kandahar and Helmand, despite the strong resistance it faced there from the Taliban, but it still exists. Its members are still able to find a foothold in parts of Nangarhar province after forging alliances with members and elements disaffected with the Taliban.
However, despite the setbacks suffered by ISIS Khurasan in 2016 and its loss of control over some lands and the killing of its leader, Hafez Saeed Khan, in a US raid in eastern Afghanistan on July 25 of the same year, the organization still holds tribal alliances and includes more elements, active in the south And it is recruiting new fighters in Helmand province and some southern provinces, and its members constantly raise the black flags of the organization, while dropping the white flags of the Taliban, in addition to providing safe havens for its elements fleeing from Syria and Iraq.
Intelligence reports indicated that the birth of ISIS in Afghanistan in Khorasan dates back to 2014, when the organization announced in Syria and Iraq the establishment of a spatial caliphate and the pledge of allegiance to "Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi" as the caliph of the organization.
Since that defining moment, channels of communication have been opened between the "Al-Qaeda" organization, as well as elements affiliated with the Taliban and the "ISIS", in order to establish relations with it and establish a new spatial mandate affiliated with the organization.
This was actually completed in 2015, when the former ISIS spokesman, Abu Muhammad al-Adnani, announced the establishment of what he called the “Khorasan Province,” where Hafez Saeed Khan assumed the leadership of the organization at the time.
